Graph-Based Symbolic Technique and Its Application in the Frequency Response Bound Analysis of Analog Integrated Circuits

چکیده
A new graph-based symbolic technique (GBST) for deriving exact analytical expressions like the transfer function H(s) of an analog integrated circuit (IC), is introduced herein. The derived H(s) of a given analog IC is used to compute the frequency response bounds (maximum and minimum) associated to the magnitude and phase of H(s), subject to some ranges of process variational parameters, and by performing nonlinear constrained optimization. Our simulations demonstrate the usefulness of the new GBST for deriving the exact symbolic expression for H(s), and the last section highlights the good agreement between the frequency response bounds computed by our variational analysis approach versus traditional Monte Carlo simulations. As a conclusion, performing variational analysis using our proposed GBST for computing the frequency response bounds of analog ICs, shows a gain in computing time of 100x for a differential circuit topology and 50x for a 3-stage amplifier, compared to traditional Monte Carlo simulations.

Direct Symbolic Analysis of Large Analog Networks
A new symbolic analysis approach for large analog integrated circuits is presented in this paper. It is based on the Coates graph representation and nodes exploding technique for construction of symbolic formulas. It can symbolically analyze large analog ICs without circuit decomposition. There are no limitations for the circuit topology and size. The analysis time and the memory required to st...
متن کاملMOCA ARM: Analog Reliability Measurement based on Monte Carlo Analysis
Due to the expected increase of defects in circuits based on deep submicron technologies, reliability has become an important design criterion. Although different approaches have been developed to estimate reliability in digital circuits and some measuring concepts have been separately presented to reveal the quality of analog circuit reliability in the literature, there is a gap to estimate re...
متن کاملApplications of Fuzzy Program Graph in Symbolic Checking of Fuzzy Flip-Flops
All practical digital circuits are usually a mixture of combinational and sequential logic. Flip–flops are essential to sequential logic therefore fuzzy flip–flops are considered to be among the most essential topics of fuzzy digital circuit. The concept of fuzzy digital circuit is among the most interesting applications of fuzzy sets and logic due to the fact that if there has to be an ultimat...

In this paper, we present a technique for estimating the gain, bandwidth, power and area of analog integrated circuits. A two-step approach is adopted to speed up the estimation process and handle larger analog systems. In the rst step, the performance of basic analog components is estimated using a knowledge-based approach. Then, component models are generated with the estimates produced at th...
متن کاملBalanced multi-level multi-way partitioning of analog integrated circuits for hierarchical symbolic analysis
This paper considers the problem of partitioning analog integrated circuits for hierarchical symbolic analysis based on determinant decision diagrams (DDDs). The objective is to use DDDs with the minimum number of vertices to represent all the symbolic expressions. We show that the problem can be formulated as that of multi-level multi-way hyper graph partitioning with balance constraints, and ...
